Good News and Bad News
Sorry that we've neglected this website for so long. I know there's no reason for us to expect anyone to still be hanging around here. But now we bring news, both bad and good.

Let's start with the Bad: We don't plan on continuing scanlations for Fullmetal Alchemist anytime soon.

I'm sure this doesn't really come as a surprise after all this time. There are many reasons. Real life getting in the way, being distracted by new interests, decent scans becoming increasingly hard to come by. But most of all, I would say it was a lack of motivation. We started this scanlation thing on a whim, because 1) at the time, no one else was translating the manga, 2) we thought it would be fun. For a couple of years, it was fun. In fact, I'd say those were the best times I've spent in fandom overall.

But then things changed. New scanlation groups appeared. Various things in fandom started getting on our nerves. Scanlating became a chore. It wasn't fun anymore, and as a result we began slipping behind our competition. So there went our motivation. We needed a break from the stress, so we took one. We then tried starting back up again and again, but whenever I was ready, Umeko wasn't, and when Umeko was ready, I wasn't, and so on.

And now, I can honestly say that I'd like to move on. Our services aren't a necessity for the fandom to go on anymore. And personally, I would rather spend my free time translating things that no one else is doing.

So here is our apology to all of our loyal fans. We're very sorry for making you wait so long and not delivering on our promises. And thank you, because we were able to make it this far due to your support and enthusiasm. We're proud of having helped revitalize the FMA manga fandom, and wish it well from here on out.


...Now for the Good news: We're not dead yet! We of course both still love Fullmetal Alchemist. When the manga reaches its final chapters, we might scanlate them just for the hell of it, even if no one bothers to read ours. Also, we are both totally psyched for the new FMA anime that's coming out in April! We've been discussing maybe fansubbing the first few episodes (again, on a whim). If that works out, we'll let you all know. We're also still deliberating over the status of our other projects, so we'll update on those once we reach a decision.

Anyway, we've got some things to release.
I translated some interviews about the new anime (including one with Hiromu Arakawa) over here.
And Umeko fansubbed the first teaser here. (Also in friggin huge HD.)
We also now have a Youtube channel!

Oh, and if anyone is a fan of Gurren Lagann, I've been translating various things for that fandom too.
