So about those Hagaren subs...
Sup guys.
So, you may be wondering if we're going to be fansubbing the Fullmetal Alchemist episodes, as we had been considering. The first episode aired today, after all.
(Un?)fortunately, we will not. In light of FUNimation's aquisition of digital streaming rights we have elected to not sub the show. We encourage support of the American anime and manga industry, and while we did continue to scanlate the manga long after Viz had licensed it, this is a different matter - a matter of the official, legal version being available four days after Japanese airing.
Chances are we would have gotten a C&D by the fifth episode or something anyway. *shrugs*
SO. We encourage all of you in North America to watch FUNi's subbed version via their online video portal Thursdays at 10 am Central Time! If you live in a country that is also providing free official subs, go ahead and watch those. If you live in a country that ISN'T providing free official subs... well, there are other groups that are illegally subbing the series, like Shinsen. Or you could get behind a North American-based proxy and see if you can access FUNi's site that way. It might not work, but it's worth a try!
We will, however, be taking on another series to fansub. I'll announce that later, but if you've been poking about our Livejournals or Youtube channel or something chances are you have a pretty good idea what it is.
Also I'm subbing the opening and ending just for the hell of it. ENJOY!

oh crap, I just realized I'd be biking back from work during that time, guess I'll have to wait until the summer to be legal...
I'm faaaairly sure that the episodes will stay up to watch whenever, that's just the time that they go up.
I think is a pitty you aren´t going to fansub "Hagaren"...
As one who lives outside the US, I would have love to see your translation, because I love what you did with the manga, and I can't see the "legal" release of Hagaren. Although in my country there are no legal, nor illegal releases. No one has bought the rights to broadcast it in Mexico.
I still hope one day you'll scanlate "Juushin Enbu" :D
¡Suerte!

the opening was orgasmic XDDD wheres the ending? (Im not too sure if I want to rewatch everything though, already seen it 20xs...they switched up some good voice actors (ie mustang, riza, armstrong....hughes is the same though right?)
Hmm, too bad. Living outside the US, I was looking forward to you guys subbing this. But the other series will probably be just as good done by you guys (I'm not one who checks your livejournals, so I'm clueless and curious)
Anyway, Juushin Enbu manga, GO!! :D

I know Eclipse did not release their version of the episode when you wrote this post but can you please replace Shinsen with something other than that or Darksoul Fansubs? Shitsen sucks (and Darksoul too - I mean, a v2?), and neither group needs more advertisement.
Thank you <(_ _)>
Thank you <(_ _)>
Just wanted to say thanks to ZOMGFTA for telling us about the Funimation subs. I never would have found that out on my own. :)
